HAYS Healthcare is seeking radiographers to work within specialist areas, so if you have experience in MRI or CT or have worked in a Cardiac Catheter lab and are looking to improve your skills, we are offering you the perfect opportunity.
Our client is well equipped for cancer scanning Oncology Hospital (RI scanner and a Siemens 64 slice Somatom CT scanner). The new Siemens Cardiac Catheter lab has been open for 9 Months now and is seeking rotational radiographers to join the team to support the rapidly growing workload. The Hospital is a District General Hospital as well with a busy A&E department, and situated close to Central London and the channel ports.
The radiographers will have regular contact with patients over the course of their treatment. They will deal with patients of all ages and have an important role in helping patients to cope with the daily physical and psychological demands of having radiotherapy.
Responsibilities include:

calculating the radiation dosage and mapping the area to be treated, while minimising the dose given to normal tissue;
explaining the management of any possible radiotherapy side effects;
administering radiation treatment accurately and safely;
operating technical equipment responsibly and confidently;
observing and assessing patients' responses to treatment, often on a daily basis;
keeping accurate records;
keeping up to date by attending all relevant training on treatment and equipment;
liaising closely with a range of staff
